Who are the Friends?
Friends of Nashville Public Library is a 501 (c) 3 organization that supports the work of the library by advocacy and education, financial support for programs and projects, gift administration, and voluntarism. Every branch library has Friends, and all are joined together under the group's charter.
Friends do nice things for the library, from sponsoring events and educational programs to buying materials for the library's shelves to funding the Summer Reading Program for children, teens, and adults.
Friends also sponsor the Second Saturday Bookstore, held the second Saturday of every month at Donelson Branch, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Proceeds from this sale support a myriad of projects throughout the year.
