Area Libraries to Undergo ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Renovations

Much-needed renovations to ten area libraries will be made beginning in September, 2007, and continuing through May, 2008. We are making our libraries more accessible to persons with disabilities. Patrons will notice exterior construction to walls, entrances, access ramps, parking areas, and sidewalks as the work progresses. Interior improvements will be underway, as well--including improvements to restroom facilities and the addition of elevators to older two-story facilities.

We are taking care to interrupt library service as little as possible over the course of this project, and expect service to continue as usual in most cases. Only a few projects will require closure of the buildings for brief periods for safety reasons. We will do our best to keep you informed of impending closures.

Branches scheduled for ADA improvements:
Donelson
Edgehill
Hadley Park
Inglewood
North
Old Hickory
Pruitt
Richland Park
Southeast

Feel free to inquire at your library about planned improvements.
