Computer classes are offered monthly at the downtown library. Classes are open to the public, free of charge. There is no registration, please arrive up to 15 minutes prior to class time. You may take each class as many times as you wish. Introduction classes are appropriate for those with little or no computer experience.
Computer classes are occasionally offered at area branch libraries. Please contact your local branch to find out about available classes.

Introduction to PC
- Part 1: Basics (1 hour)
Take a tour of the personal computer. Learn basic computer terms.
- Part 2: Mouse (1 hour)
Learn to operate the computer using the mouse device. Learn to point &
click, drag & drop, and surf the web with the mouse.
- Part 3: Keyboard (1 hour)
Learn to operate the computer with the keyboard shortcuts. Identify all
keys and their use. No typing experience needed.
- Part 4: Windows (1 hour)
Take a tour of the Windows Operating system, the software that runs the
PC. Identify folders, icons, and Windows utilities.
Introduction to the Internet
- Basics (1 hour)
Learn how the Internet works. Learn Internet terminology, browser
navigation, and search engines. Includes instruction on using web
browsers and finding Internet access.
- Email (1 hour)
Try setting up and using the web-based Email program Yahoo! Mail. The instructor will also answer questions about Email etiquette and programs.
- Searching (1 hour)
Learn how to quickly find what you want online. We’ll help you find information, pictures, music, directions.
First Thursday Noon-time Technology Series
This series is offered at the Main Library. Come by for a demonstration or lesson on a current technology topic.

and ask questions or get help with things you’re having trouble
