How do Download an Overdrive Audiobook

1. Download the OverDrive Media Console (free software)

Note: The first time that Windows Media Player attempts to open a DRM-protected file, it will alert you that a Security Update must be performed before the file may be opened. The update takes just a few moments, and must be performed before Microsoft Windows Media Player will allow any DRM-protected files to be played.

2. Search for an OverDrive Audiobook

• Browse Audiobooks in OverDrive
• View all New Audiobooks
• Search the library Catalog (select Downloadable Audiobooks from the Collection/Library drop down menu.)

3. Check out the Audiobook.

When you find a book you want to download, click on Add to Cart. Then click Proceed to Checkout. Last, click on Comfirm Checkout.

4. Download the book to your computer.

Once you click Confirm checkout, you'll see a screen where you can download the book. Click the Download button. Select Open with Overdrive Media Console and click OK . When you find a book you want to listen to, you will need to download the file to your computer.

Next, you will need to download your audiobook to the Overdrive Media Console. In the Overdrive program, click File and select Download Parts.

A window will open showing the list of audiobooks you chose to download. Check the items you want to use and click OK.

Check out period is 3 weeks. Audiobooks can only be checked out by one person at a time. If a book is unavailable, you will have the option of placing a hold on the audiobook.

Next, transfer the book from computer to player
