SERVICES: Wireless Internet Access

All Davidson County Public Libraries offer wireless Internet access.

What do I need to use the library's wireless signal?
Your Computer or PDA must be equipped to use Wireless, Wi-Fi, or AirPort. Many devices have this built in, or available as an expansion card.

Do I need a library card to use the wireless access in the library?
Yes. You must have a valid Nashville Public Library card to sign in. If you're not eligible for a library card, you may request an Internet ticket at the service desk.

Is the Internet filtered when I use my laptop and the wireless signal?
Yes. Filtering is automatically applied, and cannot be removed by staff.

Can I print from my laptop to the library printers?
Print jobs cannot be sent to library printers from laptops. If you need to print your work:

  • Save your work to a floppy disk. Then, sign on to a library computer to send the file to the printer. You will need a print card to access the print.
  • Email your work to yourself as an attachment. Sign on to a library computer, login to your e-mail and print.
