Calling all manga fans, anime aficionados, and budding graphic artists!

Join the Gallatin Pike branches of the Nashville Public Library for our inaugural animanga festival: Gallacon.

Enter an original drawing to the Graphic Art Contest. Dress up and compete in the Cosplay Contest.

Tuesday, October 20th

Graphic Art Workshop with Illustrator James L. Barry
Location: East Branch Library
Time: 2 pm

Nashville native and illustrator James L. Barry, whose work includes the Warriors manga adaptations, will lead this workshop on comic book design. He will demonstrate the basics of character drawing and walk us through the process of creating a comic or manga. Join us to get some last-minute tips for your entry in the Graphic Art Contest!

Thursday, October 22nd

Cosplay Contest & Anime Trivia
Location: Inglewood Branch Library
Time: 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Come dressed as your favorite anime, manga, video game, or comic book character (or just as yourself) for our cosplay contest. Registration for the contest begins at 4:30 pm. Judging will begin promptly at 5:30 pm.

Test your trivia skills during the registration period with anime trivia. Prizes will be awarded immediately following judging.

Saturday, October 24th

Gallacon Finale
Location: Madison Area Library
Time: 1-4 pm

Join us for the Gallacon Animanga Festival Finale at the Madison Branch Library. Watch anime on the big screen, play video games in the new teen room, make candy sushi, and attend an origami workshop. You can also browse the Graphic Art Contest entries on display, and be there when we announce the winner! Winners will be announced at 3:30 pm.
