Mobile Printing Instructions

Use your personal computer or mobile device to print to the library’s printers from anywhere. Simply submit documents for printing and come to the library to release and pick up your document.

Option 1: Print from a laptop or desktop computer:

  1. Select the library where you will pick up your print. This link will take you to the PrinterOn website for that library location. 
  2. Choose the black and white or color.
  3. Enter your email address.
  4. Browse your computer to find and select the file you wish to print.
  5. Click the forward arrow button to move to the next step.
  6. Select number of copies and other printing options. Click the forward button to move to the next step. 
  7. Review print job and cost. If everything looks correct, click the printer icon to send your file to the printer. 
  8. You will see the status of your print job and a reference number. Please record your job reference number to identify your print job in the event of a problem.
  9. Visit the library where you sent your print. Remember to bring dollar bills or coins to pay for your print. 
  10. Go to the Print Release Station in the library. Select "Release a Print Job."
  11. Enter the email address you supplied and select your print job. If you have a library card number and PIN, enter that as well to get free printing. 

Option 2: Print from tablet or smartphone:

  1. Get the PrinterOn App for your device:
  2. Open the PrinterOn app.
  3. If you have not already selected a printer, or if you want to change your printer, click the bottom of the screen. 
  4. Tap the "Search" icon at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Search for "Nashville Public Library."
  6. Select the branch where you want to pick up your print (NPL Main Library, NPL Bellevue Branch, etc.). 
  7. Tip: Save a branch for quick access. Click the info icon next to your local branch and click "save" to add the location to your saved locations.
  8. Upload the file you want to print. 
  9. Check that you have the correct printer selected. You can change your printer before clicking "Print."
  10. Click "Print."
  11. Enter an email address.
  12. Click on the check mark. You will receive a notice that the job started, and shortly after another message stating "Job Success."
  13. Visit the library where you sent your print. Remember to bring dollar bills or coins to pay for your print. 
  14. Go to the Print Release Station in the library. Select "Release a Print Job."
  15. Enter the email address you supplied and select your print job. If you have a library card number and PIN, enter that as well to get free printing. 

Option 3: Email a file to the library print system:

  1. Select a library:
  2. Visit the library where you sent your print. Remember to bring dollar bills or coins to pay for your print. 
  3. Go to the Print Release Station in the library. Select "Release a Print Job."
  4. Enter the email address you supplied and select your print job. If you have a library card number and PIN, enter that as well to get free printing.
