Parking Garage Adjacent to the Main Library has Reopened at 75% Capacity
Update: As of 5:00PM on May 4, the lower floors of the garage are open. The upper floors remain closed for repairs.

The Nashville Department of Transportation (NDOT) advises that the Main Library building is safe to visit.
NPL does not own or operate the garage adjacent to the Main Library — but we care about our customers, and we know you have been inconvenienced.
Discounted Alternate Parking Options for Main Library Visitors
Until the parking garage adjacent to the Main Library reopens, NPL and our partners are providing discounted parking at 4 alternate locations ($2 for 120 minutes maximum).
Here’s how to benefit from the savings.
- Visit any of the following Metropolis parking locations:
- 140 6th Avenue North, adjacent to the McKendree Center
- 207 7th Avenue North, adjacent to the Castner–Knott Building
- 514 Church Street, Harvey Lot
- 144 5th Avenue North, The L&C Tower Garage
- If you already have a Metropolis account, park as normal.
- If you don’t yet have a Metropolis account, scan the QR code near the lot entrance that reads, “Scan to Sign Up.”*
- Once you’re in the Main Library’s first-floor lobby, scan the QR code in the parking validation area, and the discount will be applied.

- For parking duration of more than 120 minutes (2 hours), standard rates apply
