
Nashville Talking Library
Nashville Talking Library is a free audio information service providing books, magazines, newspapers, and more to residents of Middle Tennessee with certified reading disabilities. We are on the air seven days a week, at all hours.
Nashville Talking Library's programming is intended solely for individuals who cannot read conventional print due to a disability. Our programs may not be copied or redistributed.

Ways to Listen
After submitting the required eligibility application, you may listen to the Talking Library several ways.
Online
You can also save the web stream link to your device to listen to the Talking Library whenever you wish, instead of revisiting this web page every time. The one-time setup for any device is easy.
On Computer
- RIGHT-CLICK on Nashville Talking Library Web Stream (.m3u). Choose SAVE TARGET AS. Select to save the file to your Desktop. Then click Save.
- Wait for the file download to complete.
- DOUBLE-CLICK the icon on your Desktop to open the .m3u file in your default media player.
- Click this shortcut icon whenever you want to listen to the Talking Library. You must be connected to the internet to listen to the web stream.
On iPhone, iPad, Android Mobile Devices
- Tap this link, Nashville Talking Library Web Stream.
- When browser window opens, tap the Share button.
- Tap “Add to Home Screen.”
- This will place an icon on the home screen of your device.
- Tap this icon whenever you want to listen to the Talking Library. You must be connected to the Internet to listen to the web stream.

Long distance charges may apply if your phone plan does not include free long-distance calling. You can use either a cell phone or a landline.
Special Radio Receiver
When you apply, we can mail you a free, specially-tuned, easy-to-use radio receiver. The radio is on loan to you for as long as you need it.

Volunteer with Nashville Talking Library
Volunteers read newspapers live on the air. They also record books and magazines at our studios at Main Library. Volunteers may schedule recording sessions Monday through Friday. To get started in the process of volunteering, please complete the volunteer application.
